Mock Vote, Real Learning

In preparation for the Canadian Federal election on April 28th, our students took part in a mock vote at Launch! It was a fun and hands-on way to learn about how elections work and why voting is important.

Before the vote, we spent time learning about the different political parties and what they stand for. Students talked about big topics like education, healthcare, and the environment—and how different parties have different ideas on how to handle them.

We didn’t just talk, though. We asked questions, shared opinions, and thought about what matters most to us. Then, when it was time to “vote,” students made their choices based on what they had learned.

The goal wasn’t to pick a “winner,” but to understand how voting works and why it’s something we should all care about. Our students showed great thinking, great discussions, and lots of curiosity. We’re proud of how seriously they took it!
