Being social is an essential part of a happy adult life. We love our friends! We want to have fun events and activities to look forward to. We need and want people who ‘get’ us and enjoy our company
That’s why Friday Night Social, for adolescents and young adults with autism and other intellectual disabilities was created many years ago, and is still going strong today. FNS is suitable for adolescents and young adults who require some support or facilitation of social skills and friendships, and is open to both Brighton students and the public.
Every Friday night, adolescents and young adults get together to dance, play video games, watch movies, make crafts, have snacks and hang out. It is a perfect opportunity to have some fun and develop those really important social skills. During COVID times, we have moved to an online format using ZOOM. There’s still music, games, contests, and lots of chatting and joking around. Every week is a new theme. And the best news is, while we are virtual, FNS is free! Virtual FNS runs most Friday nights, September through the end of June, from 7:00 – 8:30.
FNS is over for this school year. Keep watching here for info about September events.
