Digging into TBG! 🌱

Launch students took part in a meaningful and hands-on May Community Outing to the Toronto Botanical Gardens! This outing gave students the opportunity to strengthen their transit and community navigation skills—from planning their route and using public transit safely to practicing proper etiquette in public spaces.

At the Gardens, students immersed themselves in the local environment, learning about native plants, pollinators, and sustainable gardening. A highlight of the trip was getting their hands dirty planting seeds, connecting with nature, and gaining a deeper understanding of how things grow—both in the garden and in themselves.

These outings support a wide range of learning goals, including pedestrian and transit safety, public space etiquette, and awareness of surroundings and emergency preparedness. They also offer valuable social opportunities, allowing students to explore the community, connect with peers, and build confidence in real-world settings.

At Launch, we’re proud to see our students blossom—both in the classroom and out in the community! To learn more about the Launch curriculum and how our programs can serve you, please contact our Program Manager today at (416) 932-8273, EXT: 520. We look forward to connecting with you!
