Our students enjoyed an exciting April Community Outing to Cineplex to watch A Minecraft Movie! While Movie Day was full of fun, laughter, and great memories, these outings are far more than just a break from routine—they’re an important part of our real-world learning approach.
Each Community Outing is thoughtfully designed to help students develop essential life skills. Before the movie, students took part in transit training, learning how to navigate public transportation routes and schedules. They also practiced restaurant skills such as reading menus, ordering food, and handling payments. These hands-on experiences build independence, boost social confidence, and develop practical life skills in a natural and supportive environment.
Community outings are a core element of the Brighton Launch program’s commitment to experiential learning and community integration. They help students apply classroom knowledge in meaningful, everyday contexts that prepare them for life beyond school.
